locator.by was also developed with Ruby on Rails. It uses map of Belarus to display information about different places that are grouped by category. User can select groups of objects to display all these objects on the map. It also has some elements of social networks like finding friends and messaging, and other useful features such as GPS tracking (it uses Android application for sending GPS tracking data) Locator.by uses PostgreSQL database with Thinking Sphinx to indexing database and javascript library OpenLayers for displaying a OpenStreetMap map.
